Z pokoje do pokoje

Inspired by “Re-Use Centers” of other cities, Z Pokoje do Pokoje is a non-profit shop and workshop aiming to provide people with chic second hand furniture at affordable prices. The project was founded in February of 2016 and since then the three founders, Zuzka, Bara and Tereza, have collected a storage room full of chairs, tables and other discarded treasures that may otherwise have ended up thrown away, burned or in an overpriced antique shop. The founders plan to open a shop in September near Florence to display their pieces and also offer furniture workshops and renovations with the help of a local skilled carpenter. They also provide a pickup service where the three ladies will come by personally — and prove they’re not only entrepreneurial but strong!

“The basic need is to find cheap furniture that is original and just looks good. You can end up searching for a long time online and not finding anything, so you end up going to IKEA because you don’t have time to figure it out. We’re trying to create a space where people can bring the furniture they no longer need and somebody else who is looking to buy can find something. Furniture bazars have a bad image here and we wanted to change it.” – Zuzka Trnková, co-founder
